My first love in life is drawing. A close second is exploring the biodiversity of the natural world. These passions of mine comingle and inspire my nature-focused paintings, public art, and fiber works colored with natural dyes. I specialize in creating vibrant illustrations of plants and animals and have worked with many wonderful environmental organizations to bring their messages to life. Alongside art making, I love to lead workshops on illustration and natural dye techniques with children and adults.
I was raised near the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California and continue to call this landscape my home. It is an environment I am deeply influenced by and ever curious about. My artwork shares often overlooked stories of the ecology and history amongst the Los Angeles urban sprawl.
I’m open for client work, commissions, licensing, and
teaching opportunities. Let’s connect!
In her spare time, Carly hosts a Youtube channel about illustration and natural dyes.
