FOUND IN SOIL

foundinsoil.jpg

Found in Soil is a visual archive of our shared spaces with plant life + illustrations inspired by these spaces.

The purpose of this project is to consider the many ways we as humans manipulate, organize, and care for plant life in our environments. It is also a creative celebration of the complexity of plants themselves and how they shape and grow around and within our lives. Through the act of image making, this project encourages further exploration of these topics and meditations on space.

Go for a wander and see what you find.

"What you see here is the bottom swirling forms of a fallen sequoia tree.
The presence of the gargantuan, horizontal tree made me think of
what it might be like to swim alongside a great blue whale."

" Having different types of flowers in my home is something my wife
and I love to have. Especially warm colors to brighten up the space.
Although this flower is on its way to dying, we still find it visually pleasing! "
